We hire people that are willing to take risks, own their decisions and are openly willing to admit mistakes and quickly move on in the name of learning. We strive to create an environment where as long as you place the interests of Defijn and the rest of the team ahead of your own you don’t need to ask your manager for permission, as long as you never hide anything.
We have two audiences to satisfy, our clients and the end-users of their products. Always put people first, design and interact with empathy and constantly seek to delight no matter how small the task. We craft and sell experiences, that’s our offering and what we put out into the world.
As a remote company we rely on clear and transparent communication within teams but also across different departments. To increase efficiency we aim to be as clear and concise as possible when engaging with people both within and outside of Defijn. Our tone is warm and friendly, never condescending and we praise each other’s achievements. We never say something about a team member that we won’t say to their face.
At Defijn we don’t demand excellence, we inspire excellence. Through the way we work to the way we lead, our passionate actions drive quality and we extend that to the people around us. We measure value by quality and not quantity.
We are equally empowered makers that are mentored to know how to meet Defijn’s expectations. We manage our time with little or no direction. As a team we can rely on each other to do what we set out to do. We believe that trust is not earned, trust is given.
We create an environment that thrives on learning, we share ideas and knowledge freely and bring curiosity to everything we do, we act free of judgment and collaborate whenever possible to achieve Defijn’s vision.
We come up with innovative solutions to problems, we focus on solving a large amount of meaningful work that has a big impact on our customers, our team and on the company.
We place strong emphasis on self-awareness and care for the wellbeing of ourselves, our planet and others. We can’t perform to the best of our abilities unless we take time to look after ourselves. We spend a great deal of our lives working and we believe that time can be spent better if we don’t enjoy what we do.
